new year, new vision: from annika
(the new year is about new priorities, and keeping the most important ones from your previous years…mine is enjoying the peaceful moments outside with my loved ones!)
Happy New Year! There’s something so refreshing about stepping into January—a blank slate full of possibility. It’s the perfect time to reflect on what you want for the year ahead and turn those dreams into something tangible. For me, one of the best ways to do this is by creating a vision board. There’s something about gathering your goals, inspirations, and hopes into one place that makes them feel more real—and Pinterest is my ultimate tool for getting started.
If you’ve never made a vision board before, think of it as a collage of everything you want to invite into your life. Open Pinterest, create a secret board, and go wild. Search for everything from dream travel destinations to career goals, style inspiration, quotes that resonate with you, and even small everyday habits you want to build. For me, it’s all about balance—images of cozy mornings with coffee (because I want to slow down more), outfits that reflect my personal style, and ideas for Astrea’s Corner.
Once you’ve collected your favorite images, print them out, and start arranging them. I like to frame mine or pin it somewhere I’ll see every day, like my desk or closet door. Seeing it constantly reminds me of what I’m working toward, and it’s surprisingly motivating. Your vision board becomes less of a wish list and more of a gentle nudge, saying, “You’ve got this!”
What I love about this process is how personal it is. No two vision boards will ever look the same because everyone’s goals are so unique. It’s also a chance to reflect on what’s really important to you—whether that’s spending more time with loved ones, starting a new hobby, or even just prioritizing rest.
This year, I’m focusing on staying present, drinking more water (it’s harder than it sounds and has been a constant!), and not hesitating to try new things. My vision board is full of moments that align with those goals, and it feels good to have a clear direction as the year begins.
So, if you’re looking for a way to make your New Year’s resolutions stick, grab some magazines, open Pinterest, and start creating. Your vision board isn’t just about pretty pictures; it’s a visual reminder of everything you’re capable of achieving. Here’s to a year of growth, inspiration, and making your dreams a reality!
With love to 2025,
Annika
